What are some of your favorite credits/projects:

I am having the best time on tour with “Some Like it Hot!” I love the show, and I love the people. Some of my other favorite credits include playing Miss Krumholtz in an ALL ASIAN production of “How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying” produced by Baayork Lee’s NAAP at New World Stages and dancing on a “Saturday Night Live” episode opener lead by the one and only Bowen Yang.

Any advice for young people getting into the arts?

Have so much fun and always be yourself! Working in the arts professionally requires a lot of work, but at the end of the day, we have the opportunity to do what we love for a living.

How did you get your start?

When I was little, I did a lot of acting. I was in many commercials and did a voiceover for Nickelodeon. I played Camille in Sam Mendes’ feature film “Away We Go” starring Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski. Then in high school, I fell in love with singing and dancing too, so now I’m a theatre girl! The first musical I ever did was theCats National Tour.

Do you have any favorite moments in your career that you'd like to share?

Yes, last year I rang in the New Year dressed as a lizard hahaha, dancing for the band Phish at Madison Square Garden. It was such a wild and unforgettable time! The evening was choreographed by Reed Luplau, Lisa Shriver, and Jena ValElsander (associate). It was a pretty insane start to 2024!

What have you found is the biggest challenge in your career?

Being Asian in the entertainment industry is both a major blessing and a challenge for representation. I have found such community and pride in who I am as an Asian person which is something I owe to being a performer. Now more than ever, our stories are being told and we are being seen (yes “Maybe Happy Ending!”) When I was younger, I rarely saw people who looked like me on the stage and screen. Then and now, when I see Asian people represented, it gives me so much inspiration and hope because I have someone to relate to. Also goes without saying, but having the opportunity to be in a show with other Asian cast members is quite literally the most fun!

Who do you admire?

I admire Baayork Lee! Not only does she contribute to the theatre community as a whole being such an iconic, legendary performer herself, but she is specifically an Asian role model and advocate for Asian artists. I am extremely grateful for her organization, The National Asian Artists Project. Baayork is a true inspiration to all!

Do you have any other “special skills?”

I make an awesome Tteokbokki 떡볶이 (Korean spicy rice cakes).

Do you have any self care practices you do to stay focused and sane?

Ok, the Asian in me HAS to talk about skincare. I am a Korean skincare fanatic and no matter how exhausted I am, taking care of my skin brings me so much joy lol. I have a 7-step routine, and I love a sheet mask, jade rolling, serums, toners… the list goes on. Also, in my free time, you can always find me at a dance class or at the gym!
