What are some interesting facts about yourself?

Karaoke was (and still is) a big part of life. I grew up singing in any local talent competition there was in my hometown before being introduced to the world of musical theatre. My mom had me belting my butt off to legends like Whitney, Celine, Aretha, and Patti before the age of 10.

Do you have any favorite moments in your career that you'd like to share?

One of my favorite moments in my career was being able to see the look on my mom’s face when she saw my face on the huge SIX billboard in Times Square and when she got to see my name and picture at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. She has sacrificed a lot to give me the life I had growing up and being able to make her proud like that was epic.

Any advice for young people getting into the arts?

YOU ARE ENOUGH. Be patient with yourself and with the time. Work hard at your passions and lean into opportunities for growth, but most of all, always be kind to yourself and other people along the way.

What have you found is the biggest challenge in your career?

One of the challenges I’ve faced and continue to face is representation on stage. I am fully aware that I am a petite Asian pocket rocket (ha!) and growing up I never had someone to watch on stage that looked like me. So, when it came to auditioning for characters like “Belle” or “Cinderella” or hell – even “Ensemble Member #3 – Strong Singer” in local productions, it was really hard not to get anxious about it. We need more sizes, shapes, and rainbow-colored leading ladies!

What are some goals you hope to achieve?

  1. That I am a part of projects and companies that allow for people of color – especially the Filipino community – to be seen and represented
  2. An opportunity to perform in the Philippines!
  3. Retire my parents and spoil them J

What do you love most about what you do?

I love being able to make people feel something through storytelling

What inspires you?

My family!!!

If you could name one point in time when everything changed for you, what was it?

When I booked SIX the Musical
